Welcome. I am Julie and I run an Essential Oils and Wellness business called “Little Brown Bottles”. I am hugely passionate about giving people a tool kit so that they can take care of their own mental and physical wellness and navigate the day to day stresses of these strange times that we find ourselves living in.
I have spent the last 25 years working in the corporate world. From The City of London’s financial markets in the Mid 1990’s and then as a Behavioural Psychologist supporting global organisations with their team development and collaborative behaviours, my focus and passion is helping people to be the best version of themselves. I have also personally experienced a range of emotional ups and downs along the way including bouts of anxiety and depression so know first hand what it is like to feel the need to “keep going” and “put a brave face on it”.
However, this is a school of thought I no longer subscribe to. It’s okay not to “keep going” when you don’t feel able and to and a putting on a brave face, particularly if you are feeling scared and anxious is not always helpful either.
What I do subscribe to is taking the time to listen to your body and mind and notice where your pain, tension, stress is being held. Take time to go for a walk and get some fresh air. Take time to buy and prepare fresh food. Take time to relax, read a book, meditate, go for a run, or whatever it is that you enjoy that creates some time and space for YOU. Take time to treat your mind and body with love, care and compassion and put the negative mind chatter down for a bit.
For me that means Essential Oils, Yoga, Walks, Meditation, Music and eating good food. Essential Oils have become an integral part of family life and we now clean with them, cook with them, bathe with them and meditate with then. The contents in these Little Brown Bottles helps us to ease the stresses and strains of our daily life, helping us to navigate difficult emotions, manage our sleep better and give our bodies and the minds the support they need….and of course they smell pretty amazing too!
I am now a qualified and practising Emotional Aromatherapy Advisor and I work one to one with people over a course of 4 to 6 sessions to help realign emotional wellness and to process trapped emotions. I also run online and face to face workshops for individuals and organisations, providing people with a toolkit to manage the stresses and strains of daily life. Topics range from managing low mood and anxious feelings to regulating sleep and managing stress.
